A truly unique and gifted illustrator has recently joined the Advocate Art family and we couldn't be more thrilled! MacKenzie Haley, from Louisville, KY is a cat lover and illustrator who's style is quirky, fun and absolutely perfect for children ages 0-5! Her love of art and children's illustration has been with her from childhood, when she flunked a math test, opting to draw faces from numbers rather than make calculations! MacKenzie's sense of humor always comes through in her illustrations, leaving smiles on everyone's faces.
"MacKenzie Haley is an illustrator, runner, and cat whisperer who currently resides in Louisville, KY. She's completed two full marathons (slowly), fostered about twelve cats (not at the same time), and has her BFA in illustration from the University of Dayton. She has been drawing her whole life, and flunked a math test in the third grade because she turned the page over and used the entire time to draw characters and faces out of numbers. She eventually learned long division, and her passion for art never faded. She loved anything slightly strange or creepy and cute, and uses bold colors, patterns, and textures. She has currently reached the maximum amount of cat shirts a grown woman is allowed to have, and is banned from buying any more (but can accept them as gifts)."
MacKenzie Haley was discovered by our team of illustration agents from our New York based children's book agency! Her style is cute and quirky and we can't wait to work with her on new and exciting projects! If you're interested in commissioning MacKenzie, be sure to touch base with one of our agents!
